Bonjour, j’ai bien reçu mon mars M1 et j’en suit globalement satisfait. Je vous écrit pour vous thunder mon retour et des amélioration possible via a firmware update.1. L’écran a une très légère teinte rouge. Très légère et n’empêche en rien son utilisation. Mais compare a l’écran de mon A7S3 avec la lut d’activer en SLOG3, le Mars 1 tend un little plus vers le rouge.Il est possible de gérer la température (plus froid ou chaud) de l’écran via les réglage mais pas la teinte malheureusement (le violet et le rouge). Il serait bien d’avoir plus d’option pour la colorimétrie et le contraste de l’écran.2. Concernant le peaking, il est un peu faible même régler au maximum (au passage les valeurs du peaking sont inversé. Le curseur with a 0 active le peaking au pax et a 100 il disparait. pas bien grave mais a noter). Et le peaking deborde parfois au level des borders de l’écran sans raison.3.Il serait agréable de pouvoir importer plus de LUT (5 maximum) sans avoir besoin de brancher une clé USB4.Légère latence de rafraichissement de l’écran compare a d’autre écrans5.Il serait acceptable de pouvoir scanner la qualité des different channel directement sur la Mars M1. On ne peux voir cela que tu l’application hollyview.6. Plus de langueMis à part ces légers défauts le Mars M1 est un très bon compromis puisqu’il mélange deux fonction dans l’une et est très pratique. The transition sans fil fonctionne bien elle aussi.Conversion de SDI a HDMI fonctionne. L’importation de lut fonctionne. Plastique de Bonne quality. Livery with une protection écran. Silencieux ventilator in mode Mute.

Worth the money

Honey land doesn’t disappoint with this one. My main need was for a lightweight SDI monitor for my Ursa 12k shoulder rig (the built-in monitor is too far back for my purposes).I powered the monitor through the d-tap on the camera, but found the benefits of using an NPF battery directly on the monitor outweighed the added weight. With the NPF, I get more life out of the monitor and the v-mount and I’m able to keep the monitor on even when the camera is turned off for a quicker startup time during running and gunning.One thing I wish this monitor had was a function where it automatically turns on when power is delivered to it. With the d-tap plugged into the camera, I have to turn on both the camera and the monitor.

Dealbreaking problems

The biggest problem is there’s a lag in between the monitor and the camera, even when hardwired through SDI. That in itself is a no-go for an on camera monitor.Beyond that, the color of the monitor is not good and cannot be adjusted to match my camera (there’s a few white balance settings you can jump through, but I can’t get it close to the FX6 monitor). The power input does not lock. The monitor is always either transmitting or receiving — so if you don’t need to use that feature, you’re drawing extra power for no reason.The software is a mess, but that’s somewhat normal in this price range. Still, lots of weird bugs and problems that make me not want to use it.I will say the build quality is solid. And the wireless transmission works well. But it fails its primary task — being an on-camera monitor.

Monitor/Funk/Handling super/ Software ausbaufähig

Ich habe gleich 2 Mars M1 Monitore gekauft, da ich oft mit 2 Kameras parallel arbeite und gerne ein gleichwertiges Bild sehen möchte.Bisher hab ich an der Sony FX9 einen Small HD 702 daybright genutzt. An der Alpha 7sIII einen Feelworld 5” Monitor. Als Videofunk meist ein Teradek Bold Pro der ersten Generation (HDMI) mit zwei Empfängern. Ein Empfänger war im cage mit einem Small HD DP7 fest verbunden.Das Ganze Setup war etwas unpraktisch und schwer. Grad der Umbau des Terradek auf die zweite Kamera hat unnötig Zeit gekostet.Die Teradek Videofunke hat oft nicht funktioniert, wenn ein zu starkes W-LAN in der Nähe war.Also hab ich länger schon nach einem neuen Paket gesucht.Anforderung:2 x gleicher Monitor.Zuverlässig, leicht und einfach zu bedienen für technisch unbedarfte Regie.Der Mars M1 sah aus wie eine passende Option.Positives1. Funk – funktioniert bisher (10 Einsatztage in unterschiedlichsten Umgebungen) absolut problemlos und baut sich im Vergleich zur Terradek sehr schnell auf. Und das nicht nur im Vergleich zu meiner Terradek, sondern auch im Vergleich zu Small HD/ Terradek integrierten Monitoren.Die Option, sowohl an den anderen Monitor, als auch an iOS Devices zu senden ist für meine Anforderung ideal.Ich kann beide Kameras mit identischem Monitor ausstatten und jemanden ein iPhone in die Hände geben und der Wechsel zwischen beiden Ansichten durch umstellen des W-LAN erfolgt extrem schnell und zuverlässig.Es gibt natürlich Latenzen. Sowohl im Monitor zu Monitor Funk, als auch im Monitor zu iOS Funk. Bisher stört es nicht wirklich. Oft ist es garnicht zu sehen. Wenn ich Werbung mache oder wenn ein AC die Schärfe zieht, kommt die Teradek zum Einsatz. Für Doku und Web reicht die Funkleistung des Mars M1 völlig aus. Und ist sehr schnell und zuverlässig.2. Bild – sieht gut aus. Ist hell genug für alle Außen Situationen, die ich bisher erlebt habe. Ein Terradek Bild ist etwas schöner, die Atomos Monitore sind schlechter. Der Mars liegt dazwischen. Für den oben beschriebenen Zweck (Doku/Web) vollkommen ausreichend und auch am langen Tag ein Monitor, den man gerne anschaut. Bisschen vergleichbar zum iPhone 12 MaxPro. Fazit Bildqualität- super für die Preisklasse.3. Verarbeitungsqualität/ Handling: Das Gehäuse ist wertig und stabil. Wirkt wie gummierter Plastik und sehr rugged. Buchsen HDMI an der richtigen Stelle und stabil ausgeführt. SDI Buchse sehr wertig und ideal verbaut. Man kann den Monitor klasse auf eine ebene Fläche stellen und er steht dann stabil und kippsicher leicht nach oben geneigt. Gut durchdacht.Macht wirklich Spaß anzufassen und zu bedienen. Meine Kunden/ Regie sind begeistert vom handling.Fazit- wirklich gut gemacht.Negatives1. Das Menü und die Software! Der Grund für die vier Sterne. Im ersten Moment recht übersichtlich und leicht zu nutzen (per Touch). Aber es gibt viel Potential zur Verbesserung.- Waveform lässt sich nur auf dem Monitor verschieben (mit dem Finger – das ist sehr gut), aber nicht verstellen in der opacity oder Größe.- false color. Einfach nur schlecht gemacht. Unverständlich und nicht wirklich nutzbar. Die Farben ändern sich auch, wenn man ein LUT einsetzt. Das sollte eigentlich nicht so komplex sein, das Tool vernünftig zu programmieren. Die Anzeige stimmt auch nicht mit den Messwerten der Kamera überein.- Zebra. Da gibt es einen Schieberegler von 0-100. Auf welchem Wert man steht in %? Keine Ahnung. Und wenn man 70% auf der Kamera im Zebra einstellt, ist man auf der 0-100 Skala am Mars bei 50%. Nicht nutzbar.- peaking. Hat auch nur eine Skala von 0-100. Ist sehr ungenau und eigentlich zeigt es nur etwas bei 100%. Aber auch dann sehr viel weniger präzise als jeder andere Monitor.- der Monitor “merkt sich fast nichts. Die LUTs müssen immer wieder neu einstellt werden, wenn der Monitor aus war. Peaking auch. Die restliche scopes nutze ich nicht. Nervt extrem.Was das unverständliche ist – zumindest teilweise sind die oben genannten Punkte in der App sinnvoll umgesetzt. Nur halt nicht im Monitor. Versteht man nicht und braucht ein Firmware Update. Auf der Website des Herstellers sieht es aber nicht so aus, als wären Firmware Updates geplant.Fazit: ich werde sie aus den positiven Gründen behalten und hoffe auf ein Update. Für den Preis ist der Mars M1 aber ne gute Lösung für meine Anforderung…

Lags!!!

When you go HDMI in directly, there’s a huge lag even without transceiver functionality. Seems like it’s going through the transmitter first. The lag makes the monitor unusable. Also, anamorphic squeeze options are limited. Future facing concept, poor execution.

Best Idee ever

Great monitor but sadly, not quite there yet.

 Overview:This is a great monitor, no question here that it’s a really solid contender when up against the Atomos range. The software is ok and quite snappy on touch plus it comes with some pro-level features. Dispensing with separate monitor AND transmitter setup, is a win for any shooter.It’s really light and idea for gimbal mounting especially if you are going to power it externally. Obviously adding an NPF is going to drive up the weight but still, with a 550, it’s still manageableTransmission:M1-to-IOS. My experience was so-so, I didn’t want to rig up the second M1 I bought as monitoring on a specific job was for the client side and the production team to view and a bigger screen was vital. However, even with hopping about with different Chanels, it was still sluggish and hung repeatedly which slowed the production.I bought the second M1 specifically for focus pulling but it is yet to make it out of the box based upon the experience above. Would the M1-M1 be better? I don’t know but I simply didn’t have time to test it out or to swap out the antennas for the famed Mushroom versions.Screw ThreadThis is and still remains my main gripe – For transparency, Jun at Hollyland customer support has been brilliant so thank you. The problem for me relates to a high degree of flex on the base 1/4 screw thread. I have posted a short video showing the movement even with just light fingertip action.It just doesn’t feel like it’s anchored properly to the chassis and my concern is that if it does get knocked it could break it. I do adjust the angle of the monitor when gimbal mounted especially when using higher shots or if something is being low at a low level.Moving it backwards and forwards did make for some nervous shooting the other day. I am aware that there is a 7″ version coming out as a directors monitor which might have a different build / chassis. Obviously that’s not really for on-camera / on-gimbal usage but would be useful instead of carting an iPad about.Only solution here I guess would be a simple cage for the unit, although it would add to the weight, it will be protected and also have a more solid thread on which to mount things onto eg: gimbal, ball head, FF wheel. and handles etc.So that’s it really, I hope this experience helps buyers to make a more precise purchasing decision.

Melhor Monitor All-in-One: Monitor, Transmissor e Receptor

Esse foi o melhor monitor externo que eu já testei. Sem dúvida um ótimo investimento, tanto para pequenos produtores quanto para grandes produções.Como o Mars M1 é um monitor, transmissor e receptor, ele é uma solução única para várias problemas e acaba ficando mais em conta do que comprar essas coisas a parte.Utilizando apenas um Mars M1 dá até pra mandar o feed de vídeo remotamente para 4 celulares.O monitor em si é muito bem construído e robusto, ja tem com antenas compactas e cabo D-TAP e até película para proteger o display.Ele é muito responsivo e intuitivo, sendo fácil de se usar. Curti a aparência e disposição das funções. Sem contar que tem ótimas cores e brilho, sendo ótimo até para trabalhos outdoors.As portas de input/output também são muitas e atendeu muito bem o rig da minha camera principal.Ponto de melhoria: poderia vir com parasol incluso.Se quiser saber mais procura por Igor Lacerda no YouTube que você acha.
