Great product…..everything worked as it should when I connected my four speakers that were powered by my Pyle Amp that had only one set of speaker output terminals. No loss of power whatsoever. My garage never sounded so good. At this price its a steal. Lastly, I had no problems at all with the connectors as some reviewers have stated. I used metal pin connectors crimped to my 16 gauge wire. They held very well. All in all….a great purchase.

Excellent audio quality with full metal casing and pinch connectors. Does not require batteries or ac power. Much better than the screw connectors which come loose. Nice heavy unit which allows for 4 sets of speakers to be split off a single wired pair input. Speaker pairs 1-4, can be selected individually or all together. A great unit for a very economic price. This unit is not comparable with the Realistic Radio Shack version which is plastic with screw type connectors which come loose. I’ve owned both units and highly recommend the J-Tech Digital unit.

I have 3 sets of Stereo Speakers, My back yard, the sun room and the family room. With the simple flip of a switch I have great sound in one two or all three areas. The connections were clearly labeled which made it easy to install. The ability to match speaker impedance based on the number of speakers selected prevents the Stereo system from overloading. I would highly recommend this Speaker Selector Switch.

Click terminals are prone to come apart
This is a product that I would like to give 5 stars, however, the click terminals are very flimsy. The springs tend to pop out along with the plastic part that presses against the contact. I was able to get the part reassembled but did not feel that there was enough pressure to hold the speaker wire secure. I fixed that with a rubber band. I might add that I spent close to an hour looking for those little springs only to have them pop out again.Now that I have it working, it does a fantastic job of routing sound to various zones

An Absolute Piece of Junk!
If I could give this “no stars”, I would. Very poor build and design quality. The combination plastic and spring-held clips that hold the speaker wire in place, popped out at first use. And because I bought this in April and am finally able to get around to wiring my house for sound, I can’t return this item; even though I just took it out of the box. An absolute piece of junk! If people are taking the time to wire their home for sound, it’s a good chance that they have a higher end audio system…or at least a system that would require that one of it’s components should not be as poorly made as this is. There is nothing more frustrating than starting a labor intensive project and to be sidelined by faulty equipment. Do yourself a favor…stay away from this unit.

Sorry, but the sound quality is affected by the poor choice of resistors used as compared to an ancient Niles Audio product. I went back to the Nile version. The J-tech had compressed sound and a high level of distortion. May have been a bad unit, but that speaks to poor quality control I don’t recommend this product.

This replaces a primitive Radio Shack speaker selector. What a difference! It is well made, nicely styled and somehow improves the sound. I am absolutely pleased with my choice. Missing Login Credentials
For those who need the default login credentials, They are as followsUsername: AdminPassword: AdminBoth are case sensitive. The review I am writing might be the only way to get this information at the moment. I could not find the login info in the manual or anywhere online or in any of the Amazon reviews.My other criticism is the Android app gives me connection failed errors. The web interface is rather primitive. For those issues with missing credentials I am removing two stars.On the positive, this product is a godsend for someone who has multiple devices, like game consoles, a PC, and what not. It’s made organizing much easier, and the web interface lets me label the outputs and inputs. Customer service was also quick to respond by Email when I needed the login credentials. I still recommend this product for anyone who needs a solution for organizing multiple HDMI inputs and outputs.

I’ve used numerous 4×4, 6×4, etc. matrix devices. Needed a device to handle more ins/outs for my home office.Initial setup is straight-forward. Like the IR extender so I don’t have “reach” to aim the remote at the device which is tucked away under my desk. Overall the device works as expected, with some minor glitches:1. The way the device seems to function you have to press a command button once to “wake up” the unit.2. Some inputs have trouble “hand-shaking” with the monitor through the matrix. Still figuring that out.The biggest feature this unit is missing is pre-sets, which quite frankly really surprises me, especially when you see how they market the unit. You can’t create pre-sets for you most used configurations. You can reset to “default” (output 1 > source 1, etc) but that only solves for 1/4 of my needs.Support team has been super responsive.

Good Product at a Good Price for What It Is.
The J-Tech Digital 4-Channel Power Stereo Speaker Selector is a very fine product for what it is. The term “Digital” is misleading since this speaker selector is a simply a set of four switches that allows each of the four speaker pairs to be connected in parallel to each other. There is an optional power resistor that can be added in series (by a switch) with the parallel speaker network to prevent the load impedance from dropping too much as speaker pairs are added to the electrical network. However, the individual components that make up the box are conservatively specified which should make for a very reliable product. There will be no noticeably loss of output audio levels as long as the user does not need to push the audio power amp to its high-end power limits. If this is the case, it might be recommended to use four separate auxiliary audio power amp boxes to drive each of the 4-channels separately.

I feel bad to give a 2 stars but it has no use for me besides the lookP/s: i changed the review to a 4 stars due to their effort out reaching to me to address quality. Lots of times (not all times) people complained and result by free replacement or some other complementary means, i care more the support and will of seller to improve product.My original problem was the spring popped out causing the plastic on the back loose. EASY TO BREAK WIRING CONNECTORS ON BACK!!! I broke several of the connectors because I kept trying to help the spring loaded squeeze connectors to close after inserting wire. I was going to give this a one star review and throw the unit in the garbage but J-Tech was very courteous on the phone and shipped me a new unit right away which I received in two days! The reason I gave it another shot was that the unit passes audio beautifully to my new Polk speaker sets via my Niles volume controls. I CAREFULLY WIRED THE REPLACEMENT UNIT MAKING SURE NOT TO HELP THE SPRING LOADED CONNECTORS (which hold the wire fine without any help) AND IT WORKS GREAT!

A little large but fit the bill for my needs
This works great, no issues that other buyers have written about (loose connectors, etc). I was careful during the insertion of the speaker wires though. Button are solid but I feel the unit is a little large for what it actually does. I was just going to make some switches for it originally so this is must nicer to look at. One nice feature is there is a button that will allow you to push more sound to the speakers, if it is just a one pair set up (so as to not over drive the speakers/amp).

I have a two large stereo speakers outside on the patio and two large stereo speakers inside my room.In order to play the outside, I would have to pull out my receiver & switch the speaker wires from the inside ones to the outside ones. It was a pain in the neck.With this, I just plugged all four speakers into it, then ran two speaker wires to my receiver and BAM! Now, I can push a button and play just the inside speakers or just the outside speakers or even both & I no longer have to pull out anything or switch any wires around!I have had no issues of any sort-no distortion or reduced sound quality, etc.In the future, if I decide to add more speakers to a different location outside or inside, I have room to add four more speakers!

Works well but I was hoping it would help me solve an impedance issue I was experiencing and so far it has not. The issue is that my Amp. puts out 100 WattsChannel and one set of speakers handles up to 200 WattsChannel. At higher volumes this creates a clicking sound from the Amp. and stuttered output from my speakers. Has anyone any ideas how to resolve this ? The Amp. producers (Pyle) don’t have a clue !

When you spend almost a grand for a 8×8 switch you kind of expect a few things like . . .- Documentation that matches your product. Seems stupid not to be able to find the web login and password and then have to call in for it.- A serial port that you can set to something other than 115,200. That rate is not supported in some legacy equipment like older Global Cache Units.- Alternatively an API to use to make the switching calls.- commands that are not translated well into English. If I want the same input showing on all outputs (via the serial) the command actually sets 1 to 1, 2 to 2, etc.- since EDID is noted it would be nice to block a user to trying to send a 4k60z feed down to a 1080p,- only supports 3 EDID values.It is a decent unit, just not well positioned and documented.

This is simply the worst electronics item I have ever purchased. The speaker wire hold down clips pop right out of the unit right out of the box. It’s almost as if this was a cheap prototype they designed before going into actual production. I have been an electronics consumer, and installed many systems in both home and car applications for more than 20 years.
